New member of the 12 sec club!

Went to VMP last weekend for the Quick 8 shootout, test n tune. The place was packed and got 2 runs in 8 hours. My buddy with his 90 gt showed up and brought his friend with a black srt-10. Well get into that in a sec.

First run, me and my buddy pete who went with me got lined up together, both shooting for 12's. As for mods, i have a JLP Intake, 4# Lower, predator and tune from rwtd, lfp vb, bassani catback. He had a 4# lower, predator tuned locally, aem intake/maf setup, ported blower. Both on F1's

Me Him
R/T .314 .801
60' 1.971 1.788
330 5.412 5.216
1/8 8.244 8.059
mph 86.40 85.68
1000 10.705 10.542
1/4 12.787 12.636
mph 108.11 107.80

Both of us were really pumped about this. My second run wasnt any better. I was trying to launch it hard and had to back off....so i ran a 12.919@107.75. I know the truck has a 12.5 in it, i just need to get the 60' down a lil more. For dyno numbers, i dynoed 395/492 on my winter tune. Will be putting in the summer tune here in a week or so when it warms up.

Onto the srt-10. The guy was cool, dont get me wrong, but he was way over confident. He said that he drove plenty of 12 sec cars and this was a 12 second truck (stock). i kinda laughed and waited to see what he ran. First run he ran a 14.0@104? and second run he ran a 16.?@???. Granted he had traction issues. Me and my buddy pete chuckled at it and thought how funny it would of been to be able to line up with him.

Overall, considering it was packed, long lines, etc.....we had a great time and i was really happy with the way the truck performed.

Very nice run, and the MPH was really strong.

What were the air temps?
You were running stock type radials (F1's)?
Do you know how much timing your tune has in it?

great job.....

one Question.....You got your buddy off the light but he stroked you on the 60 foot. Were yall on the same tires. It is very rare to see f1's go 1.7 on the 60'. The track conditions must have been really good. The reason I ask is because I have been tossing the issue of porting the Eaton or going with the KB. I would rather port the eaton if I can go 7.9-8.0 in the 1/8 and the blower stay together....Dont want to spend the money just to watch it come apart a month later....any thoughts?

one more thing....

one more thing.....You were about 1 mph faster at the light. You said your friend was on a ported blower (eaton I assume). What is the difference? exhaust and Tune? Almost has to be tires on the hole shot. It looks like you were running him down, Is he on 20's. I know that alot to be asking but I am seriously about to port the blower or purchase the KB. It really doesnt look like porting it is worth the time and $$, thanks.

we were both on f1's, stock rims. He doesnt have a steig or apten, he had his done by a member on the board. He had his tuned here locally at a shop, i got a mail order from rwtd. Both with the predator.

We both got lucky, both times we ran, we ran right after the "FAST" cars, which laid down some nice rubber for us to grab.

The temps for the day were about 60 degrees, low humidity, and 100 ft above sea level, i believe.
