Question Would There Be Any Interest In This Center Floormat?

We can make a center mat that will cover the transmission tunnel now. It's a single piece that can be available with or without a logo. You will have the option of carpet and logo colors, just like the twin floor mats we sell now.

The mat, because of it's thick rubber backing, doesn't want to bend over the hump very well. It's really not all that bad but it is bad enough that it will be required that you put the ends 'under' the edge of your regular mats to help hold it down. We tried it without the rubber backing and it didn't want to stay in place and frankly didn't look all that good.

I don't have a price on it yet, I need to see if there is enough interest first.

Here is a pic of one, and please remember this is just a sample piece done with whatever scrap we had. Personally, I think this particular one is fugly but it's all I have to show now.

And, before you ask, we can't make a full one piece floormat.

Any interest?

Hey Tim,

Not for me, beacause the console mod is on the way, but....

I just have to comment - I love your 'truth in advertising' tactic!

It's pretty refreshing to hear (OK - read) about a potential new product with the good AND bad described. Once again, your a class act!

be neat if you could come up with some way to atach the center under the two sides like you did when you tucked them but make it to where it was removable like velcro

Tim, I bought a rug through Stylin' Concepts. I would have preferred one like you are contemplating. If you do make these, I may get one because it is "Lightning" specific.

I would think most people would want to protect their entire carpet with one of these.

I keep my "Chickenears" floor mats covered with a full rubber floor mat (from Auto Zone) so that they don't get worn and look good for shows. Speaking of shows...did i see your truck at FFW Atlanta this past weekend, Tim?

All I want is a one piece mat!

Maybe some day a vendor will realize that would be the way to go.

That is a possibility. The problem is, that the rubber backing is so thick that it might not want to lay down in the curved area on the sides of the tranny tunnel.

Thanks,

Tim @ Chikenears
