quick yes or no question!!

As above, do the later clear 01 L front and rear lights fit straight into a 99-00 lightning? If not what will need doing to do so? Also are the main front grills the same? I've looked at some FAQ's/differences but it doesnt mention the compatibility between the 2.

Thanks
Chris

Yes - the headlights, taillights, front corner lights and cargo lights are interchangeable.

The grills are different with the earlier models having a 'honeycomb' grills and the newer ones having a horizontal bar grills. I believe that these are also interchangeable, but I cannot gaurantee that.

ok brilliant thanks for the info . Are the lights easily available or is it just a matter of being lucky on ebay?

Thanks

Yes - to both.

The lights are frequently on eBay, but many of them are aftermarket knock-offs that often come with leakage and condensatin problems.

If your set on the 01 up 'crystal lenses' I would recommend that you stick with the factory parts, even though they are more expensive. There are also projector style and HID offerings in the aftermarket.

I believe that the Navigator has similar headlights and I think those will work (from a similar year range) as well.

I've seen the factory headlights on eBay go for as low as $80 US so you may be able to watch for a bit and get lucky. Also keep an eye on the classified section on this and the other forum sites.

They are also just an order away from an online parts source, but you'll pay more for brand new factory parts, even from a discount dealer like FordPartsNetwork.com.

Good luck on the truck hunt - hope you have something to swap lights in soon.

The rear lights have a different wiring harness I believe. The old ones use a two bulb setup while the clears use a three bulb harness.
