Just curious about this. Seems like some people get some ridiculous power out of chip tuning.

Where does it come from? Fuel, spark?

It just unlocks the special code for the flux capacitor. Once that sucker is online, the extra power is unleashed.

 

You name it

Changes Shift Points
Moves Rev Limiter / Fuel Shut Off
You can turn off Torque Reduction
Proper Air / Fuel based on "your Mods" and "your set up"
And the Money "MORE TIMING"
There are other adjustments too, Tip In would be a good example

The power comes from More Timing
Proper Shift Points play a large part in ET
A/F IS EVERYTHING

 

 

That is it. They pretty much just jack up your timing, and set you a/f, at what they think is good. They can also change all that stuff Rob said as well.
