Battery Light Q

Hellooooo everybody,
Got in my truck tonight, drove for about 5 minutes, and then the battery light came on, and my lights dimmed down. Pulled the predator out, voltage was 11.5 or 11.6, and maintained that way till i got home. The battery and alternator are stock, 68,000 miles. 2001 Lightning. Which do you think is the culprit? Truck has always started easily, i thought the gauges would sweep if the battery was getting weak. Well thanks

If your battery was comletely dead, the gauges would sweep the next time you turned the key with a charged battery.
Sounds like your alternator is bad. A volt meter on a running truck should show around 14volts. 12volts or less means the truck is running off of the battery and the alternator is not charging.

Hope this helps,
Jason
