2007 Svt Adrenalin
Ok 2 thoughts here:
1) Does the "shaved look" question apply to the quasi-SVT car or Tim's thong?
2) Why does Tim's brother's gardener know what underwear Tim wears (or barely wears - as the case seems to be)?
Tim - you may want to have a talk with your Bro - I think some of his staff may be stalking you
Herb
PS - the car is STILL ugly, bratz or not!

hey guys, just my .02 on the "adrenaline".
some are negative, some are positive.
1. I've never been a fan of the sport trac, but this one is a major improvement in my book. it looks far better than the standard model, it obviously will offer performance light years beyond the current powertrain and chassis package. Like FAR TOO MUCH of Ford Motor Company's product line of the past 5 (or more) years, I would not consider purchasing a standard Sport Trac because it is UNDERPOWERED and just plain BORING. this adrenaline concept is definately neither of those things.
2. No, it's not a Lightning, it's something different, so don't look at it as a Lightning replacement because we know it'll never measure up in our minds. it's a new and different vehicle.
3. the SINGLE reason I heard repeated OVER and OVER again at the dealership from customers who looked at and wanted to purchase the Lightning but DIDN'T buy was that they NEEDED something with a back seat at the minimum and preferably four doors. face it, most folks have families that they have to haul around with them at least occasionally. IMHO, this is why the Harley was such a success. I know that A LOT of the S/C Harley truck buyers could have cared less about "Harley Davidson" but just were wanting a 4 door Lightning type truck. again, it's not a Lightning replacement, but maybe like Ford said: it really is closer to what customers have asked for.
4. the name "adrenaline" is just plain corny... just call it the SVT sport trac. this isn't a mountain dew commercial.
5. it is a definate step away from what SVT has proclaimed to be about in the past, but obviously SVT is going through some major changes.
6. I've been seriously wanting to purchase a Subaru WRX STI or Mitsubishi EVO since the latest versions were introduced as '04 models. but being a "Ford" person wouldn't allow me to do it. I work for Ford, I own Fords, so I don't drive subarus. still, I wanted one of these vehicles not because they offer the best performance, or the most HP, or the best styling. but because they appear to be FUN, yet still PRACTICAL, and DRIVEABLE year round. I know the adrenaline doesn't directly compare to the above cars, but with the exception of fuel economy it'll satisfy alot of the same criteria.
7. there's probably more, but I'm over the topic. No, the "adrenaline isn't for everybody, but yes I know that it'll be a hit with alot of potential buyers.
later,
chris

The main part about the adrenaline that scares me is:
High HP with -higher- center of gravity and narrower wheelbase.
I would be hesitant to drive it anywhere but in a straight line when "playing".

Yes I am all pissy about it.
I feel you should take care of you core customers, the ones who have supported you over the years, before you branch out and try to find new markets.
I have owned 3 SVT vehicals, and if they want me to buy another they better do the right thing. If they do the Adrenalin before a Lightning I will go buy a SRT10 and tell them to kiss my A$$

Not that I would want one, but
there are quite of few of the SRT-10 4 door trucks around here. Must mean somewhat of a demand for extra room, per other's comments here? I know a number of guys who bought HD because it it is a L-type truck with a better interior and more room.
Being a single guy, I've always liked 2 seat performance vehicles. A few months ago, I became kind-of-a- dad to my fuzzy-butted 90 lb German Shepherd that I rescued. He's not happy about the lack of room, especially if the console is down. He is good natured, but growls at any lady friends who insist on making him share space! Heck I was even thinking about getting the new Toyota Tacoma Extreme and putting a TRD SC on it. However, the area behind seats is way too small.
Hope they have Adrenalin at Auto Show here in Atlanta so I can take a peek. Correct me, if I'm wrong, but wasn't old Sport-Trac based on old Exploder platform with new one based on current edition? Might not weigh more than L?

Some of you guys kill me. "Ford ought to take care of us Lightning owners. We have been here for them and deserve special consideration for buying their SVT product." Waaah! Waaah! Waaaaaaah! I'm just glad they make SVT products for us to enjoy. If they produce a product that has broader appeal, or goes into new territory, I say "Bravo!" I'm willing to give the Adrenalin a chance. The concept doesn't look like a family mover to me. If it pulls double duty, that's cool.

I don't understand why everybody is so upset over it...They don't offer supercab flareside Lariats anymore, either, and there were a lot more of them sold than Lightnings, but you don't see me whining and going to Dodge because of it...The Adrenaline is not replacing the Lightning, they're taking more time to develop an even better Lightning, but there will be a new one, and when it comes out, it will own...Lighten up, they have a business to run there, and that includes selling all different kinds of vehicles to all different kinds of people, not making a certain 5,000 or so of them the top priority...It is a priority, but they want it to be the leader undoubtedly when the L comes out, not just rushing it to the market to say they have something...SVT has a lot going on right now...

Finally i'll be able to hand Don his ***!!!!!!
Also,
I don't know if any of you have realized this but ford already has a model "Adrenaline" for the sport trac. I was going through the 05 brochure at the dealer last week and seen it and was like WTF???? It's a package offered on the sport track with just body style and interior changes. I think it has different wheels too. So what they are actually offering is the SVT model of this. The product is new but the name is the same. Just a FYI for people who dislike the name.
I also agree that this vehicle isn't a replacement for the Lightning, so people need to relax. They just took some of the features that people wanted in a SVT sport truck and used the sport trac as their platform. Not a bad start if you ask me. I have contemplated trading my lighting in for a harley over and over just to get the back seat. Then I decided that A) I'm not into the whole "Harley" thing. B)I really wouldn't be driving my truck anywhere that would require carrying more than 2 passengers anyhow. Plus, it would be paid off by the time family commitments come around.
