CRASH KILLS PASSENGER

Police A 22-year-old Cincinnati man was killed when the pickup truck he was riding in late Monday crashed into an embankment and overturned on Ohio 128 near New Haven Road in Crosby Township.

Hamilton County sheriff's deputies said Jay Wood was a passenger in the 2001 Ford Lightning driven by Anthony J. Wood, 19, of Colerain Township.

Deputies said the younger Wood was southbound on Ohio 128 about 11:05 p.m. when he lost control of his truck and struck and embankment on the left side of the road, causing the truck to overturn. Jay Wood was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

I wonder what led to the loss of control? I bet the driver feels horrible... I couldn't imagine being responsible for killing a friend.

Judging by the same last name, one would assume it was his brother. -Mat-

Man that sucks as svt said it is his brother so he must feel 10X worst. I think if you dont wear a seatbelt then you really dont care about your life and wouldnt mind to die.

There are lots of ways that one can be killed in an auto accident while Wearing a seatbelt...

I had a friend involved in an auto accident a few years back. He wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and it was later determined that if he had been wearing a seatbelt he could have more than likely been killed.

if it's your time....

Don't be spreading nonsense ... You are 1,000 percent safer WITH
the seatbelt than without it.

definitely, I used to never wear one...until my friend almost hit the windshield in my last truck. He was holding a soda and not wearing a seatbelt....needless to say he wasn't ready for me to slam the brake when I had to.

What a mess...soda everywhere, and he missed kissing the windshield by inches. If I would have been going 10 mph faster we would have been picking glass out of his face.

Bottom line is its easy, and while it takes some getting used to....you will feel naked without it after a while .02

Wearing a seat belt is smart. Saying that someone "wants to die" if they don't wear one is nonsense.
