Just be sure you check the width; I got a 75" one and it WOULD NOT fit. I think an 80" wide would be ok, but close.

Al,

My suggestion is to look for an aluminum trailer if possible. Our Ls weigh a lot and then theres the extras (Jack, Slicks, fans, generators,etc..) that your new F-150 will be towing about 5300-5400 lbs w/o the trailer.
I know they are more expensive , but they also keep there value very well.
You should definately go to the E-town swap meet (April 15,16,17) as there is always open trailers with "Show" specials.

Mine is a 80" x 18 foot dovetail. It has the electric brakes on both axles(I had it only on one last year and the brakes would get hot as hell in mountainous terrain). It has wood decking and two ramps, that I welded an extra 2 foot on each to make the ramps longer to keep from scraping the front of my truck.

Get a load leveling hitch.

I have roughly 1700.00 in the trailer with the extra brakes I put on it.

load level hitch ran about 400(maybe)

The trailer weighs in at 1800 lbs unloaded. This would be the minimum set up I would recommend.

If I had it to do over,I would do aluminum(as Vinney Recommended) and get the 7500 lbs axles.

OH...and with 80" wide I have about 2-3 inches on each side of my Lightning. I usually don't miss the center ....any more...LOL.

if you can get a trailer with torsion axles, they are awesome. Would take the bumps well and not jar the truck as much.
