Driveshaft breakage

Where do our driveshaft's typically break?? Reason I'm asking is, I made a driveshaft loop and it bolts up close to the front universal joint. If typical breakage occures after the first tube weld then the loop is basically useless.
I searched on here and it seems most of the Vendors make them to attach near that weld, mine is close to the weld.
Thanks in advance,
Bryan

I'm pretty sure it'd break at the weld and/or an area with the smallest cross sectional area.

at least that'd what I'd think

ohhh, they're hollow... almost forgot. in that case, a breakage in the middle wouldn't be uncalled for

Mine failed at the rear joint. Was pretty ugly. -Mat-

Always carry a spare with me to the track, just in case.

Somewhere very close to that(can't remember exact) but it can be found in the NHRA or IHRA rules.
I think original reasoning for ds loops"was, decades ago" to keep the ds from coming thru the floor and getting legs, or possable digging in and catapualting the rear, sending you out of contol, also if it let go in the rear it would slide out of the trans and slide off to the side. at least it seemed good back then, LOL

the regulations tell you where they must have them mounted (if required) to be legal at the track.
some also make rear loops, if you want extra protection
Just keep it safe and have fun
