which suspension?

im wanting to ship some lowering parts over to the UK for my 1999L but want to make sure i get the right kit first time.
ive seen a belltech kit with front springs, rear shackles and nitro shocks plus some alignment parts as well for about $500.its a 3/4 drop although the info says it could drop a lightning up to 6".
what do you guys think?
id stick with the 3/4 but wonder if im doing the right thing getting this kit or whether i should be considering other kits.
thanks.
mike.

I did a lot of deciding over the Hotchkis vs. the Roush. The Hotchkis comes with sway bars, but I really like the Roush for some reason. I'll be going that route.

Good luck!

I have had a few kits, haven't seen much difference in quality....the shocks will be the primary difference as far as what you will notice driving around. I haven't had a Roush kit, I cant see how it would be worth the extra money...but I'm not sure what all is in their kit... I would hope they use drop springs to make it more worth your while.

If you have $850 (before taxes and shipping!) go with the Roush. It comes with 4 bilstein shocks, new front coils and new rear leaf springs. From what I have read on these boards and others, it is the best handling lowering kit there is. I'm not really sure though if it will give a drop of 3" front and 4" rear. I think it is more like 2" front 3" rear.

Anyways do a search for lowering kits on this board and some other boards and you will definately get all the info you need. I can PM you some other board names if you need them.

so do we think that rear drop shackles are a cheap but second rate way of lowering the back end?
are replacement springs a lot better?
mike.

shackles and hangers are fine, to a point. I would think different springs out back would be better if you race a lot. I know I dont get much of a "squat" when it hooks....I always figured it was because of the shackles and hangers.... my stock leaf springs are almost totally flat with the tension on them from the kit.

how is the rear dropped on yours then? Your sig says you changed the hangers at least...but the shackles would have to go along with that
