All those with L&S Automotive Oil Seperators!

For all you who have the L&S Oil Separator mod I thought I’d share my experience.
In doing some engine maintenance recently I removed the L&S filter from their supplied oil filler cap to get it out of the way while I worked. I went to reconnect the filter and placed it onto the oil filler cap and pushed it in. Well, the PVC tube (the piece supplied by L&S that slips over the male connection on the bottom of their filter) was shoved through the filler cap and into dropped into the valve cover! *&%$#@!!!*&*^$&* When I had removed the filter. I hadn’t noticed the PVC tube did not remain attached! The only reason it had not happened before is that when I normally do oil changes I remove the L&S filter AND the oil filler cap at the same time. So if the PVC tube remained in the cap I just pulled it out and placed it back on the filter connection before screwing the filler cap back on.
I can see that with a bit of distraction and /or a brain fart this could certainly happen again. To prevent this possibility I simply put a hose clamp on that piece of PVC tube that goes over the connection. Hope this hasn’t happened to any of you. It took me two hours to remove the valve cover and retrieve the piece of PVC tube!
