Unhappy Help! IAC and oil or something?!?

Well my IAC was clogged or stuck agian, for the 3rd time in 6 months.........made me an hour late to work.

This time the truck shook more violently than any of the other times. I cleaned it out pretty quickly.

When I took the IAC off it was oily. I think it was oil. And the 2 holes that the IAC bolts into had a substance inside as well. I may have sprayed too much WD 40 into the IAC last time and thats what the substance is.?.?

..........not sure what to do

Should I do one of the "no oil in the intake" mods? If so, what seems to work the best for you all?

Well... I see you have a 99 and nothings been done for this "issue".

If I had your truck I'd:

Take the I/C out and clean it with about 5-10 cans of carb cleaner. (it's under the blower)

Clean the throttle body really good.

Replace the IAC valve with a new one.

And get a "seperator" (I have a REM unit)

Put it all back together and you should be good to go.

SHould only cost about $40 total and I'm perty sure your gonna look like this when you see the I/C.

Yeah, I planned on taking apart and cleaning those exact parts.

Ive seen the pics and know that mine will be really bad. I need to do the leaky I/C fix at the same time too.

Right now i'm more concerned with the oill in the intake thing. What options do i have, some people plug them right? or use breathers.

what is the REM unit, who sells that?

thanks man.
