Do the variable pitch turbos = best of all worlds???

Rob, another good story! Excellent plot, character development was outstanding, the ending took me totally by surprise....I give you two thumbs up!

PS: It's funny, on my wife's turbo PT----when you floor it, the car actually starts moving first, starts winding up just a little, then BAM, the tires break loose and it's spin city.....on my L, it's-- floor the gas, tires immediately break loose, THEN the truck starts to move. Both fun, just a little different.

I'll agree that the new ball bearing turbos make a huge difference in spool time over the turbos of old that used bushings. But a turbo, by it's very nature, isn't going to produce the bottom end torque that a positive displacement supercharger does. It may pull harder through the mid-range and top-end but I can't imagine a turbo producing the torque that a twin-screw does at 2500rpm. I'd like to see some dyno graphs of Sal's bad boy because I am curious to see what a turbo will do on one of our trucks.

I hope to see pics, vids, and full specs soon.

Congrats on building one hell of a beast.

FUN FUN FUN

And now today we wake up to a frigging NOTHER snow storm
#)$^)#)#$%&#)%&#)&@#)@#%&&@#%$)@#$

Sal has not had a lot of time to spend on his Beast, everytime I'm there, there's new Fords and new customer projects.

I don't have any #'s to report, but I know he has been spending a little time on it recently, hooked up the hose to the Turbo you don't see installed (in these older pic's below), he changed the size of the Injectors, did some tuning, etc.....

I ONLY KNOW WHEN WE WERE CRUSING THE STREETS AND HE STABED IT, OMFG : o () "YIKES"

A few older pic's, a month or so back....

Did ya'll know what Crash sells these turbo kits & he's a supporting f150online vendor... http://www.trixtersracing.com

He can get something like 425hp on 8 psi for regular F150's, they should really be great for our trucks!

LOL....Rob just made an installment on the, "good deal motor" account.

I feel like I was just set up by an aluminum siding salesman

.

Robs story segues into an advertisement for Crash/PSP turbo package....LMAO....I just love this place .

What I would like to know is about the MAF....I see that it is a blow thru and wondered how much that hampered the output of the MAF. I know it drops the range somewhat but how hard was it to tune it and when you pulled the 160 lb'ers what did you use for injectors ?

Turbos > any thing else.

a turbo will ALWAYS give more torque then a roots blower. hell a roots blower you guys using at 16psi+ it actually sucks 75hp+ just to turn the thing where a turbo takes 5hp if that.

hell if a bone stock 4.2 V6 with a single turbo at 13psi makes 362rwhp and 490rwtq out of a V6 then please a v8 turbo will make massive amounts of torque.

While I won't argue if this is always true I will ask how much higher in the rev range that torque is being produced? Let's see some dynos of these things...
