2.8 installed!!

Well I installed the RR 2.8 non slip upper along with 2 100mm idles and a new Gates 68# belt. What a difference. Boost comes in even faster and I gained a solid 2#s of boost from it.
Here is a list now all my mods.

RR 2.8 upper
JL 4# lower
Metco 100mm idlers
JL Cold air intake
Denso IT22s @ .036
Dyno tuned pred ( JL )
0-30psi boost gauge
Wideband commander to keep an eye on things
Borla cat back
JL Lift bars
JL saftey loop
Built trans and 2,600 stall

And to think back when I bought my L 8 months ago I planned to keep it stock!! Next on the list is an SCT Big MAF and some bigger fuel pumps for saftey.

Yep stock block and a A/F of 10.0 to 10.5 on the street!! I'm seeing 13.5 psi as soon as I stab it and 15 psi by the top on 2nd gear. I only run Sunoco 93 oct.
The street tune consist of 16* of timing and a fatty A/F of about 10.0-10.5.
My track tune or "out hunting tune" consist of 18* of timing and a A/F ratio 11.4 or so.
I just installed the Dynojet WBC and I have a Predator so I'm able to adjust the fuel mixture whenever I wish. The 16* and 18* are the same dyno tune with same A/F ratio but I adjust the 16* real fat for the street and the 18* I run a littel leaner now for the track.
I have NO plans on longtubes anytime soon but a ported blower and catless or high flow intermediate pipes will be installed before next winter.
I do have a "getto cooler" that I made that will go on the L soon to help ward some of this extra heat from the 2.8.

Don't buy midpipes if you plan to ever do longtunes, since the midpipes for stock exhaust manifolds won't work with headers in the future.

I plan on selling the mid pipes once the built bottom end goes in and the long tubes go on!
You have Long tubes right?

Yup.

LT's, no cats, and bassani. Still not loud enough.

I'm gonna remove the actual cats and put pipes in there place to get rid of the exhaust expansion noise I currently have. Just gotta find time. Have WAY too many projects going on right now. Gotta put the interior back in for starters, LOL.

Stock huh... Many people have said that, welcome to the club...
Long tubes and exhaust should be on your list, it will make your stock block last longer also.................

How are longtubes with exhaust leaks? I've nothing but trouble in the past with F bodies and headers. Exhaust leaks, Clearence issues, melting wires, etc... If they fit VERY well and no known issues then maybe I'll get a set.

I've not had issues. Just use the stock ford gaskets. I have more problems with the midpipes where they meet the catback, so I welded em'.

Stop making me think. Jsut thought of a short lsit of must buy mods:
Line lock
Rims and Slicks
Ported blower
Full exhaust
Fuel pumps
Big MAF
Injectors

At least when I throw in the short block I'll have the supporting mods.

I've been thinking about the Big MAF, but eh, it seems to do okay how it is for now.

See if the whipple comes out in two weeks.
