Which MT steet ET for stock Bolt ?

Should I get 26/10.50/16 (25.9 " tall)

or 26/11.50/16 (26.2 " tall)

for a basically stock Lightning ?

If 11.50 too big ..add power :^)

with 16 x 10 steel wheels... package is $624.00

Seriously will I break anything with a large slick with stock power ? I'd appreciate any tips/insite...

Tx

Ford also want $ 129.00 for a stock wheel to match the spare

front skinnies.....spare plus ..new wheel and tire...

any option on "matching" front wheels ....that is less in cost ?

Decal on door EL Cheapo Racing Team :^).

I run 26 x 11.5" ET streets on 16 x 8" AR baja and give them a big

I would say that you'll need a traction bar. Not so much to plant the rearend... as what's more important is not over rotating the rearend and putting the driveshaft in a bind.

On my web page is a pic of me launching on those tires along with some long tube traction bars. You can clearly see it diggin in REAL good.

Invest into a set of traction bars if you plan on running slicks. If not then you're drive shaft or U joints will snap due to axle wrap.
Go with a 28" tall slick. 26" are a little short but will work fine.

As others have said traciton bars are a must with slicks. I have a 99 also so the 26" slicks will work best for our 3.55 gears until you run low 12's then you need to switch to 28"s. I run the lakewood traction bars wich you can get threw JEGs for $94 and 26x10.5x16 MT Ets on 16x8 wheels so the contact patch is flat. On my Mickey thompson ets i heat them up very well and run 1.95 sixty foots. My slicks are still new and im just learning how to lauch so i know there is alot more i can get out of them. As long as youve got the traction bars you shouldnt have worry about breaking anything.

You should also invest in a driveshaft loop. Even though not requirred for DOT slicks they are recommended!
