stall
It's not mandatory but while you got the motor out you might as well. (If funds allow it.) A good converter is worth a couple tenths by itself.
I personally run a Precision Industries 2400-2600 stall and it's got good street manners.

For the more serious modified trucks, we offer the Factory Tech Forged Billet Total Domination Converter. This is a full on race torque converter, stalls at 2400 - 2600 RPM's and offers a forged cover plate, anti balloon plates, furnace brazed construction, double Torrington bearings and comes with a 12" cover plate with an 11 1/4" impeller and turbine. The Total Domination Converter is just that, and can handle almost all the power and torque you can throw at it. These units are built to order and always take two days to build.

Seems like most the people around my way with the monsterbox have a hard time getting off the line.
I know everyone says this stall or that stall works best, but as far as 60 footing the L's are kinda lazy for all the torque they make.
Anyone beside me feel theres gotta be a better setup? Seems like to get off the line with a MB you need to make over 550 HP. My 60's on F1's are about equal to my buddy who just sold his L with a MB and slicks.

I just put my 2600 Dante's in yesterday. Haven't had the chance to really try it out yet, but it didn't drive much different at all on the way home. I'll find out Friday at the track rental If I can improve my 1.73 60' best with Nitto's with my new M/T drag radials and converter. As long as it doesn't friggin snow that is.
