Talking Who wants to flame me first...

Just got it back from the sandblaster. I need to do more cleanup on it, then paint.

I have about $40.00 and 3 hours in it. If I do a new one for me I will get it blasted first, and use 3 inch channel instead of the strip.
I had it on the truck for 1 week. The blower whines louder, and SOTP there is more power. Sure beats spending $200-700.00 for a fabricated one.

More pictures in my gallery - click the www. in the gallery called 02 Blue.

Come on, guys. You can do better than that.

It was welded with a Miller 185 MIG spool on gun. I'm going to see about firing up the TIG. As you can tell, I need more practice aluminum welding. My steel is a h3ll of a lot better. My wife says it looks like a Horta (those who understand will understand).

Yeah, ugly as h3ll but it works.

It looks like the intake is wearing a bad toupee.

That's a good one.

I'm going to do some more grinding tomorrow.

So whats the purpose ??? The plenum does not generate air. If more air flows from the plenum into the cylinders, it must first flow into the plenum through the MAF, which will meter the appropriate amount of fuel to maintain the open loop A:F ratio.

Unless the plenum is to small to begin with, I would not expect a noticeable gain by increasing it's size, however if it is really small, a large gain might be had. It is all relative, a balance of compromises, and results in diminishing returns ............

With a Roots blower, the air in the plenum will reach the same pressure no matter what the plenum size, but it will take longer to reach it, I would also like to add that the welding job is top shelf

Red 92: I know what you are saying about size, I think the gain is in the fact that I smoothed the inside and smoothed out the air flow going into the blower.
BTW, the $40 includes the price of the upper.

Just get a TIG and go over it with no filler rod. It will look smooth and much better. Good job for a beginer.
