I have a 01 bone stock lightning and ever since i got it when you stomp on it in 1st or 2nd it pulls hard then around 3-3500 there is a lil delay then it gets going again .. is this normal or is something ****ed up ? I am about to cancel my warrentee so i can mod the truck but i want to make sure something isnt screwed up

Sounds like the converter locking up; doesn't do it in first gear, but does it in all others?

Then I would say that's not normal. Fuel filter is one idea.

I would lean towards the fuel filter as well, also how much gas did you have in the tank when it does this? Sometimes I have heard of fuel starvation from the fuel being low.

My Lightning did the same thing. It was the spark plugs. Changed them out and no problems. Worth a check.

Mine's an 02 and has done the same thing since new. It's stock except for an Air Filter and a Factory Tech Valve Body.

Don't worry it's just the Torque Convertor locking up. I've done a search on here and it's nothing to worry about.

Do either of you have your boost bypass disconnected? That solved the issue for my 02.

I have a pretty much bone stock 01'. It does the same thing. Mine will do it in 2nd mostly. I think its just torque reduction. I did the boost bypass mod too. It still does it.
