Cleaning MAF?

I know this may be a stupid question but I am not the most mechanically inclined person out there. I know that you guys are using brake cleaner or contact cleaner but how exactly do you do it? Do you just unplug the 2 sensor wires and spray them down? Use q-tips or just let dry? Please help, pics of what to spray down would also be helpful!! Thanks guys!

DON"T USE CARB CLEANER as it leaves a thin oily film.

Use electircal contact cleaner or brake cleaner.

use a Q-tip and be VERY VERY careful cleaning it.
It'll dry instantly

What you are actually cleaning are the two 'lumps' on the fine wires inside the sample tube. Be carefull not to touch them as they are quite fragile. You'll need to, at the very least, remove the air filter to gain access to them. It's easier if you actually pull the MAF sensor housing completely out. If your not running a CAI, it will come off with the air filter lid.

Sorry - no pics from my side.

Maybe Rob has some

Why are you cleaning it ?

K&N has not completed any tests as to the efficacy of such a process and, therefore, does not officially endorse or recommend any cleaning process.

Idle problem, its been going on for a while. I have changed the IAC twice, still does not help. I'm just trying to solve the problem.
