Talking A few more questions from a soon to be newbie....

As soon as I get rid of my Expy, I'll be getting a L. I have a few more questions rolling around my head so I can start planning some mods......

1) This isn't a mod, but just a question.....A guy from here sent me a short vidoe clip with him driving his really modded L. The supercharger was really really loud. Are they loud in stock form?

2) I'm pretty familiar with the exhaust layout of the L. Do you have to retain 2 cats for each side of the engine? Reason I ask is I work with exhaust alot and I plan to make a system that the exhaust exits on both the driver and passenger side. If I could get away with one cat on each side it would make things alittle easier.

3) Awhile back I got a pict of guages a guy had in is F150. They were white face guages, and the numbers lit up red at night. Can you buy this kit for a L.

4) In my Expy, I have a sealed box with 2 12" subs in it. I'm wondering if I were to buy a hard cover for the bed of the L, and insulated the bed with carpet and stuff, if I could put my box in the bed and have incredible bass still. Has anyone done this before?

I think that is all the questions I have for now, but I'm sure more may pop into my head. As it stands now, I'm going to buy the black 01 L I mentioned on here before, I'm working out the price details and trying to sell off the Expy...thanks for any info you can give me, and I'm hoping I am not a pest.

1) Kinda loud.......but you can change that real easy.

2) You do not have to retain anything but that would mean routing exhaust under the gas tank.

3) Anything is possible......depends on how much you want to do/spend.

4) Why would you put a sub box in the bed?? You wouldn't really hear it in the cab...........unless you cutout the cab and bed to connect them.

1. stock: no. get a 4lb lower, chip, and cone filter: yes. progressively louder as boost increases. also the aftermarket blowers are louder than the stock eaton.
2. yes you can go one cat on each side, but it might not pass visual inspection? depends on how large in diameter the stick is in the *** of your local DMV people. I wouldn't put one pipe out each side unless you plan on putting a fuel cell in the bed. Very dangerous having it exit right below the gas filler door.
3. L guages are white faced already. But they are backlit in green. Unless you are talking about auxillary guages in say an A-pillar pod?
4. I guess you could do that, but it'd be far easier to have a custom enclosure built for those 12s to go behind the seats in the cab.

Thanks guys. Maybe I should tell my plans for the exhaust though, and maybe you could tell me if the gas issue is still a concern of yours. I don't want to catch anything on fire. I was looking under the L, and from what I can see, you could bring a pipe straight down off the manifold, bend it to go to the outside of the frame (there is a curve in the frame where you could get a pipe by) and run the exhaust and cats between the frame rail and the ground effects. It would be far enough from the ground effects that it wouldn't get hot enough to melt the plastic. If heat was an issue, could I use the heat wrap they use on headers? Thanks again for your opinions.

P.S. as for the subs, I think that is going to be a trial and error sort of situation. Once I get the L. I'll keep updates on what I find to work the best

I have two JL 103v2 subs in my L powered by a 500/1 amp. They hit really hard to be in a truck box and thats comming from a 19 year old. I have a guy making me a fiberglass box to hold four 103v2's that when itll be fun
