Installed fiberglass leafs

Just installed fiberglass leafs this afternoon, man did that make a nice change! Rear looks level with front (have a 1" Eibach drop in front) I do have JLP 4" shackles in the back, but I only put the leaf in the 3" drop hole and am glad I did.
I'll post some pictures tomorrow, I have to find some level ground to take them. The only problem now is that I have to readjust my cat-back, it's kind of hitting the traction bars when I idle. Figure a slight adjustment is all that is required.
I'll bet you I shed @ 100lbs!! My 03' leafs had to weigh atleast 40 pounds a piece, maybe even 50
Bryan

PS- install only took 1-3/4 hour!!

I bought them used, I believe they came from Charlies truck. I'll post some underneath shot's in the morning. I'm sure that they are JLP's brand. I think I'm going to need new shock's now, bouncing a little bit!!
Don't flame me with how dirty my truck is underneath, the thing barely get's driven during the winter!!
Bryan

I also checked my pinion angle and it was 2 degrees negative.

Glad you got them installed. I saw your truck sitting out front yesterday and noticed they weren't on yet.

Thanks E,
I probably would have been fine with the 2" shackles you gave me, but I like the adjustability of the 4 inchers! You were right about the pinion angle, everything came out nice.
I've mentioned your name to a couple guys at work about some diesel mod's and they seemed interested. I'll contact you when they're ready for you! The one guy just picked his up Wednesday.

You don't happen to know who made the leafs do you? I had 3 sets of Metco glass springs that could not stay together... The glass would splinter and came close to totally failing. I loved them for the weight reduction but could not trust them that something bad would happen... This is what they were doing....

Yes, any info as to the manufacturer and performance will be appreciated. I have been considering these leafs, but was strongly warned by LFP that many were having problems. Keep us posted.

I don't know who made them but I'm sure they were JLP's brand. They were used, and the truck that had them was hitting 10's. There was only one spot of splintering, very slight.
I read on this site that a guy who originally made them had a problem with breakage with the first models and then made better. I think I read the guy had some health issues and had to stop making them for a while???

The one Spring was made 3/03, the other 12/02.

Most likely they are from these people: http://flex-a-form.com/

They have been around for a long time and will custom make springs to your specs.

Actually I did not have any shims in. The springs came with a thick plastic type piece with the 1/8" thick alum. piece on the outside. I guess all that stuff was for when you torqued down on the u bolts you would not crush the glass springs...

If you cut off one of the dunuts of your bumpstop you will have more room for your suspension to travel without bottoming out. It will give you a better ride.

My L is lower than yours i have to cut two dunuts of my bumpstop.
