tranny

ok, the newbee again. i notice a (hard to describe) tiny surge, almost hesitation after my truck shifts into 3rd (high gear). when it first shifts it continues to pull and then its almost like it makes a tiny shift again, takes a samll second and goes back to the pulling stage and them to OD..does anyone understand my description or no what im talking about? thanx for any help

If you look at the dyno graph of almost all '99 lightnings you will see a dip in power. I'm assumming that this also applies to '00 lightnings. It is common.

Here are a few of my old graphs - you'll see the little BUMP in the Dyno graph

Also, what you are feeling is the torque convertor LOCKING UP. They all do this.

first off thanx for the reply's,,,,,
i was kinda thinking that also but wasnt 4sure.what exactly happens during the locking up procees..this is new to me,,i run
c4's and tremecs, i dont think my lentech does this in my 91 gt.

If you read this whole thread, it has a pretty good description of how a converter works, what it does at lockup and how to figure out a few things about them, it kind of bounces off the original topic, but it's a decent read...
