Need a little help w/Lightning purchase

I have wanted a Lighning for a long time now and have commited to buying one. I live in Jacksonville FL and I am willing to travel up to 500 miles to do it. I am looking primarily at 03's with less than 25k on the odometer. Are there any differences between the 02 and 03? The 03's are running a little more than I wanted to spend but the 02's are where I want to be pricewise. 22,000 is my ceiling and the 03's aren't quite there yet. I do have the patience to wait another six months or so for 03's to drop into this price range if they are somehow superior. Thanks for the info.

I purchased an 03 with8700 miles for 26500. I love it and do not have any regrets. Just get one now, you only live once.

I had heard some where that the 03's got redesigned heads. Is this true? Just want to make an informed purchase.

Not redesigned so to speak, they have more, I believe 8 or 9 spark plug threads, as compared to 4 threads on the 01 & 02 heads. So yes in regards to plug threads in the head the 03/04 heads are different. I don’t think anything else in the head has changed.

Different head gasket and more sealing area on the head surface.

Thanks fellas, that helps a lot. I will only consider an 03 now. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait a little while though to get one for under $22,000. Patience is not one of my better attributes.
