I just bought a Lightning and was wondering, do they have a document/certificate stating what number of what number they were when made?

If so How can I get mine? The person who traded it in did not leave it.

You'll have to fax them some proof of ownership like a registration or something like that. I had the same circumstance as you and I got mine in about 3 weeks.
