probably a good amount of HP with an 8lb pulley.... but from what ive heard those things are really dangerous and hard on the engine! So beware!

Welcome,

First off, measure what the diameter of the lower pulley is and the upper. Post some pics if possible... there are experienced eyes out here and we can help you make it quick AND safe.

The diameter of the lower is 8'' the upper is 3''. Ill try and get some pics of the chip... thats want you wanted to see right? I have never put pics on the net befor so ill try and get them up by 2-11-05. Do you have any idea how much boost or HP the pully is making. I just bought the truck and it already had the pully and chip. Will the pully blow the motor?

Thats a 4 lb lower and stock upper. the chip sounds like possibly an old autologic? you are probably in the 380ish range. The 4lb is pretty safe but its all about the tune and good fuel(93oct) to keep the motor together. Congrats on the new truck, I just got my 01' 2 months ago and Im lovin it.

I was under the impression that an 8" lower is a 2lb pulley? 4lb is 8.5" correct?

My 4 # was 8.5", I don't have a boost gauge but I'm assuming the gauge was reading 12 (slightly above 10). Dale I think you're correct!
