Lowered my 04, does the front look right?
yeah i too have a 2004 sonic blue lightning and not really sure what to get as a lowering kit for my truck. so far i have the 2 inch belltec shackles....nothing more. id like for the front to drop 1.5 inches and the rear to drop another 1.5 to 2 inches. i was considering the roush kit....but dammit man, thats a grand. i can do the install myself since i work for a lincoln/mercury dealership....but still, a GRAND!!!! lol well, a picture is worth a thousand words.....so start posting pics of your truck(s) ....please
thanks.
thanks.
Just to answer a few questions. The only thing in the back is the stock seat, so I don't think that is making a difference.
I put in the 2 inch lowering shackle at first and it only dropped the truck another 1/4-1/2 inch and like you said scv8 I don't want to loose all my rear travel, so I took them out an all I am running now in the rear is the hotchkis rear leafs with stock shackles.
Don, you know me too well, I rolled the truck out to take the pictures and pushed it back in. As soon as the roads dry up I will take it for a run, I was kind of thinking (hoping is more like it) that driving it, might help it settle a little bit more.
I will try and get a brighter picture of it in the warmer months.
04SVTLIGHTNING, I wanted to go with the TVS from hotchkis, but like you said it's a grand! and I need go fast parts before I sink a grand into the suspension stuff.
So what I have is the 1 inch springs in the front and the 2 1/2 lowering leafs in the rear. (on the 04's I believe the drop is more then 2 1/2)
chief40al, I am sitting at 31 3/8 from the ground so let's hope it sinks a bit after some miles..
What should I do with my FRPP 2 inch shackles?
Thanks for all the replies!!

John, something you may want to consider is the Hotchkins front springs. After doing research for my own truck recently, I read that they drop a Lightning 1.25-1.5 inches. They seem to be the only front spring that drops our trucks that much without cutting. Just some info for ya.
