Hi guys

I am in the process of buying a used Lightning. A few questions I wanted to ask though

1. I realize that it's supercharged, but the whine was extremely
loud,( louder than the one on my mustang) is this normal?
2. Exhuast system sounded like it had a bad leak coming from the manifolds, is this common or should I look closer.
3. what's it like overall, complaints or complaments?

FYI I am looking at an 03 with 29k ( they want $24 k for it)

 

the whine is one reason i bought the truck, so i don't consider it possible to be "too loud". since its pre-owned, it may have a cai on it which makes the blower much louder. if this is the case, switch it back to the stock airbox and it should quiet down. overall, i love my L, and smile everytime i get to drive it. zero complaints!!

 

Are you buying it from a dealer. The louder whine also might be from a larger lower pulley.

 

or it might be from a ported s/c... that "exhaust leak" could also be detonation. My advice would be to have a local L tuner check it out...
