That's because those other parts were made before it rolled off the line. Your build date is the date it rolled off the line and out the door.

So does it take six days to build a Lightning? Also isnt 4-20 national pot smoking day? I guess I have a truck that was built by a bunch of "high" people.

They probably have make X amount of parts on one day.X amount of parts on another. Then everything rides the line on a future day. Sauvy can probably shed some light on this. I'm just speculating.

Pot day

My truck was Built 03/03/03 unfortunately on a Monday. I have 25K and they only thing that's crapped out was the A/C compresser clutch.

My truck was built on a Wednesday, 6/25/03 the best quality day for manufacturing…

As has been stated, the build date is when the truck is put together. The truck simple rolls down a line and all the previously built/assembled parts are then assembled to the truck to make a finished product. Once the truck is completed that is the “build date”…

As far as what days are best for quality is just about irrelevant with today’s quality standards. There has been so many changes to how manufactures large and small produces parts that it does not necessarily rely on if the individual is feeling good or not as to the quality of the part, in other words hangovers on Mondays, and “can’t wait to get the hell out of here” on Fridays.

The other thing to remember is every part in any vehicle is NOT built on the same day, its just assembled on the same day…
