First of all, my post was to inform people that they need more than just a roll bar to run tens!

Second of all, the parts are NOT out there!
Just because you say that you have a friend that makes these and will sell YOU a set, does not make them AVAILABLE!

I too know a company that is working on this setup and is very close to realeasing it, but I did not mention it because it is not currently available!

These parts WILL be available as we all need them inorder to run 10's!

I think that Old Man Winter has struck us all with cabin fever!! Never seen so much arguing! Personally I trust the people who work with the lightning's day in and day out. (No offense fomocofan) I wish there was an NHRA or IHRA referee here to answer the questions at hand!
Sincerely,
Bryan

PS, my common sense tells me that 6 point roll cage would need bars going out the back, otherwise the bars wouldn't support enough. Whatever direction you're going while going upside down.

HI!... Yes the owner is a friend of mine but his shop is one of the biggest roll cage, chassis, rearend builders in CANADA. Since it's a REAL shop and it's out in the WORLD and he has the parts, that would mean "THE PARTS ARE OUT THERE"!!!!!!!! Geeze your an idiot. Did you used to eat lead paint chips as kid, or mabey eat the paste in kindergarden? You strike me as a person that is ALWAYS right even though everyone around you KNOWS your wrong. I bet you got beat up alot as a kid, right. Doesn't matter I know your type, all too well. You might have to trade in your LIGHTNING ( if you own one) for a SUPERDUTY, because your ego is getting so big it might not fit in a REG CAB anymore. I think it's time to close this thread, WEBMASTER? I 'm just about done with this fool. Next he'll be telling us that the LIGHTNING has absolutly nothing in common with the REGULAR F-150............

This is getting old, but it's strangely addicting....

Put down the rule book or the web page references and think for a minute-

Why are there safety guidelines and rules for racing?

Because things break, ***** happens, speed is always increasing, time are alway dropping....ETC.

These rules are put in place as a MINIMUM requirement for safety. They WILL be more stringent in years to come as more barriers are broken. Common sense SHOULD prevail and be WAY more stringent than the rules. This is human life we are talking about, not sneaking into the movie theater!

Metal bends - bracinging only one side does not stop this fact - bracing opposing side also does not stop this fact, but you then have opposing vector forces in completely opposing failure mechanisms. THIS IS COMMON SENSE - rulebooks be damned!

Neal, you said yourself that the eliminators were 1.5 months away from production....then you say the parts are "out there"

it can't be both ways....as dumb as I am, if the parts aren't in production...then that means they are NOT "out there"!!

Neal...I do have a Lightning AND two F350 Superdutys aswell as a Saleen S351!

I ran FFW last year and tied for first place in the Tough Truck championship.

I have run a best of 10.87 @ 123
However, in competiition I can only run 11.0's legally!

JDM has just finished installing a new built motor for this season...which should get me down to 10.50's or so!

I am waiting for these parts to be available....but as of now..they are NOT!!

What the heck does any of this have to do with my ego?
Do you know what ego means?
I was told that I was wrong by someone who admitted to not having a rulebook and was going by something that was posted on someones website somewhere...
I was acused of being wrong....I was just defending myself here...
I don't give a crap if any of you think I'm right....but I damn sure know that I have a rulebook and I can read right here what it says!
If you or anyone else does want to know what the book says and want to believe what someone thinks it says thats up to you!

Instead of locking it....

Why not Edit the garbage and let this thread get back on course?

All I was asking was whether or not they are REQUIRED.

Everybody lets stop for a minute.
First off, before this thread, I have never once heard a bad thing about Jamie (Fomoco) So the people calling him an a-hole and stupid...hold on a second...you too Sal, as an SV and respected member of the community, you should be above that, as you usually are.

This is a heated discusion over hear say. Jamie seems to be the only one actually holding an official rule book. the argument "theres more to it than the rule book" doesn't hold water. its a rule book. black and white. It is what we have to go by.

I don't think Jamie ever said it would be wise to run with no rear bars. I think we can all see that is a better set up.

Its winter time. We are all benchracers now, and there seems to be many practicing keyboard kung-foo as well. Everyone chill out for a minute.

maybe we can get an IHRA or NHRA rep to speak on the matter?

Lastly, I would like to stress again, that you people that are name calling, really ought to catch your breath. I know what its like to be so sure of something, that others aren't getting. A lot of us do a lot of racing at different tracks, and half the fun of that is meeting new people and putting names with faces. Jamie is the type of guy you should all have the pleasure to meet some time. He is a great friend, and avid enthusiast, and an all around good guy who would do anything for you, on or off the track. I have already got one guy (ninesecL) that wants to "punch me in the face" if I ever run into him at the track, and thats not what we're all here for.
Sooo, unless you can get a Techy from the rules dept, or have anything valueble to say here, chill the fack out!!!

Rear bars are required for a cage.
A cage is only required to run 9's.
A roll bar for 10.0-11.49 does not require "rear" bars.
There are no specifications for "brace bars".
Aslong as the main hoop has braces that start within 5" from the top of the bar they can go in any direction or angle!

I think this has been covered here and I posted the rules direct from the 2005 rulebook....what more do you want?

Thank you Whip, I don't like to get this way, but I don't like to be called a liar either..

The Ford rear disc brake assembly is a great axle retension device, I would say IMHO that it is a hell of a lot better than a pressed on bearing. Dont know what the sanctioning bodies think about that but it may be why they appear to let this one go.

Who is letting anything go?

IHRA/NHRA wont let you run 10's w/o aftermarket axles AND c clip eliminators.

Not more than once or twice anyway...
