This is SOOOOOO funny (and true) that I laughed so hard I had tears rolling down my cheeks. I can't wait to see you guys at the track this year. Showdown @ Cecil, someone please bring a video camera so there will be no doubts about the outcome. The saga continues, and so does the fun.

The bars going out back is a simple matter of physics (force).

If you flip your truck going 100+, it will most likely still collapse anything that doesn't allow the force to transfer back. That is why they go that way.

That's also why you can't "criss-cross" the bars. The two points of force would be uneven and the cage would twist.

There is no rule about the bars going rearward! The bars could just as easily go forward preventing the requirred forward movement of the main hoop!!

I would think that the rules are there for a reason.......and I sure hope those that are trying to get around it, don't find out the hard way...........All it will take is one death and everyone will think differently.

No Rob, you cannot go under the window. The brace bars must start a or within 5" from the top of the main hoop!

"All required rear braces must be installed at a minimum angle of 30 degrees from verticle and must be welded in."

I think the minimum angle is 30 degrees fom the main hoop to the rear bars. That would be less than that for sure.
