Question Question about 9.75 rear end cover

I bought a powder coated cover from one of the supporting vendors here and it has multiple chips around the edges.

Is this normal, or should I say something to them about it ?

They are not huge. A couple are a 1/8" square, and a few are long and skinny. All told, probably 7 or 8 chips. Don't know why - it was wrapped in paper and bubble wrap and there was nothing else in the box ??

I don't want to make a big deal about it if it is just the nature of the beast, you know ?

I will just put it on if you guys think that it is normal, but I'm wondering what will keep it from rusting ??

I posted it here because it is one of the Lightning-oriented vendors and maybe you guys have had similiar experiences.

Thanks for any info...

I'd probably call the vender,

I'm sure they'll fix you up...
after all you spent your dough to have a nice cover,
not much good to you if it isn't "nice"
