Attn. Sal Going to dyno

Hey Sal, can you check back with this thread real quick?
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ighlight=fast1

Thanks. Now that I refreshed your memory. On Thursday, im finally taking my L to the dyno. Im going to bring a floppy disc and get the dynojet files. That way I can send them to you.

1. turn off the OD
2. take it up to 3rd gear, 3000 RPM's, 70MPH
3. Let it go to about 5500RPM's

Anything else I should know? Thanks!

1. don't stand behind the truck (rocks fly out of the traction vERY FAST)

2. Don't allow it to sit so long before you start your run where it is not warmed up. you want it to be warmed up (BUT NOT HOT) reason being is that the PCM uses different fuel tables buring start up and warm up than normal running temperature.

You are doing what I did. i added my mods, went striaght to the local dyno, dyno's it, sent Sal the files with my chip, and he sent me a program... went back to the dyno to check everything and it was good to go. (I still drove out there for a dyno tune a few weeks later... added more parts)

Your 1,2,3 list is all correct. Also, make sure they don't just start it and make a pull right away. There should be about a minute from when they start it, to when they make the pull. This was the truck is not work off startup fuel adders and is in closed loop.

After your session, get me the data and we can fine tune it.

UPDATE:
Just got back from the dyno. Disappointing to say the least. After a 3 hour drive, I finally arrived. He straps the Lightning down and tells me to start up the L and let it run for a minute or two. I say, "aren't you going to hook up the air/fuel"? He says, "it's broke." I couldn't believe it I talked to this guy two weeks ago. He knew the main reason I wanted to dyno was to check the air/fuel! I went ahead and made 3 pulls. No charge. My numbers are low, just as I expected. This is way I could only manage a 13.59 at 101mph. If I post the dyno sheets, can you guys analyze anything?

I'm no expert,,, yet

but your numbers look close to stock,
beside your torque being 10-15 higher

Maybe its the dyno?

I went to a different dyno-jet about 3 months ago. Nearly the same numbers. One strange thing I noticed watching the video though. During my pull, you can see small "puffs" of smoke(?) coming out of the exhaust. It's not a steady stream, just a few puffs every 1-2 seconds.
