Transmision Problem...please HELP

whats up guys..
I ran into a problem with my trans tonight...

it went like that ..
I hamered it on the highway and it down shifted to second...that went fine...then when its time to third it just slipped to neutral and it started rivving up!...I used the manual 2nd gear and the car drove on it fine...switched to D and it started rivving like it was on neutral......so I stopped the car and restarted it and put the gear on D....everything was fine again...the shiffting was fine....so I tried to hammer it again and it did the same thing again!!

What could be causing that slippage to Neutral?

I have a 2004 L with only 1700 miles on it..

my mods are:
a 6lber
throttle body
intake
jdm flip chip
E-fan
NGK plugs
exhaust and headers

I cheked my trans fluid and it was fine (at do not add leve)....I was using the cold weather tune( it was 25 degrees outside).

any idea whats causing that or if it happened to any one.

Thanks for any help provided

Waz

Mine did the same under WOT. I flushed the system and put new filter in and its been ok since. I am still nervous that something more could be wrong since I couldn't get the problem defined.

Could be the plates got hot and glazed, it may get better but may not, at best you've done some permanent damage to the intermediates. What's more likely, and worse is you grenaded the intermediate sprag. That's why it would get M2 and not auto, the M@ deploys the band to lock the intermediate brake drum, Auto uses the intermediate clutch to do the same thing. If you did that, it has to be rebuilt.
If your torque reduction is disabled, now you know why I say don't disable the torque reduction, among other reasons it'll blow up the sprag sometimes.

if you plan on taking it to the dealership, you better remove all the mods first, or you can kiss that warranty goodbye.

I think your biggest problem is going to be the fact that hte corformal coating on the PCM was scraped off, so the chip can be installed.

They will most likely notice this. and say they won't cover the tranny. Don't back down!
The dealership must prove that the aftermarket part CAUSED the failure.

I don't see how they are going to be able to do that if the chip is not in there and they don't know the setting on the chip.

There is a way to tell if the transmission programming has been changed, even if the chip is out and the coating is re-done. I don't even need to see the truck, just the tranny. Same goes for the engine I'm told.

Just so you'd know,
