lowered the rear...now wheel hop?

hi guys i lowered the rear of my truck, adjusted the pinuion angle to where i get no vibration, but now on a hard launch i get some wheel hop, is the only way yo correct this by adding traction bars, my truck is only lowered a 3.5 inches in the rear, anyone else experience this??

do you know what your pinion angle is set at? i think for best traction results you want it at about -3 degrees? i recall a discussion about this a little while ago, but I don't know if that would give you vibrations at certain speeds or not?

How did you lower it? Shackles, springs, what?

With a leaf removed you can wrap it up much easier which will result in wheel hop. Also just make sure you didn't overtighten the shackles. If I were you I would not launch hard until you get Traction Bars. Might want to think about a DS loop while you are at it. Good luck.

Sorry about that. DS is short for drive shaft loop. Hard launches, wheel hop, modded motors all increase the chance for snapping a drive shaft off resulting in major damage or possible injury. The loop prevents the front of the Drive shaft from digging into the ground, among other things.

By removing a leaf youv'e made it just that much easier for the torque of the motor to wrap the axle. Traction bars will limit the travel and stop excessive wrap. DS loop is smart insurance imho.

Keep your foot out of it or it's gonna bust a u-joint.

Most lowered guys have not removed a leaf.

svt_2004, you'll be ok just GET SOME traction bars on it asap. I've got a 3" shackle in the rear and some JL 58 long tube lift bars. Only issue you might have is them slightly hitting the mufflers exiting pipes.

(my spin techs clear ok after a slight adjusting)
