I doubt it, I'd imagine with a little bit of simple green or something like that any residue could be wiped off.

Actually it does double duty, while making your grill look custom it also protects it from chips due to road debris and if the molding gets damaged just replace it with another piece and it will look as good as new. If you had a Harley grill and it got damaged it would cost a lot to fix or replace so you can't beat the bang for the buck.

The 3M adhesive strip is about 1/4" wide. The actual chrome trim is 3/8" thick. It's just large enough to cover the "dome" of the grill contour.

yes it could peal, the finish in some areas .... a gray touch up would correct the finish. I was not concerned with the cheap gray finish provided by ford and painted my grill black and then put the chrome strips on it about a year ago.

Some people trimmed the trim to fit underneath the oval. Right now I just have mine raised out a bit in order to keep the trim straight when you are looking at it head on.

Look at the pics in my album
Appearance mods album
I don't have a side shot of the grill but that is the only position you can see it is "bubbled out" at all to fit underneath the oval. Basically you just have to raise it up a little so that it stays straight with the grill. I have thought about re-doing that middle piece and trimming it to fit underneath the oval but I showed it to several people and they said it looked fine.
