How do I get some traction with 460/530 and a 3/5 drop?
When I first got my truck it looked like a 4X4 so I ordered a 3/5 drop kit and 2 inch shackles
It Looked great!!!!
I added 305/45/ZR18 Nitto drags,Full Bassani exhaust,MP,4# lower,SBTB,built tranny and 2600 stall
Made 463/530 on the JDM street tune
Went to the 1/8 mile track for the first time last week and the best i could muster was a 2.1 60ft!!!!!!!!
How do I get some traction?
Convert the rear back to stock and keep just the drop shackles?
Which traction bars will clear the Bassani exhaust?
I have ordered some MT ET streets and generic wheels but will they make that much of a difference from the Nittos at 18 psi?
What do I need to go from a 2.1 to 1.7
Any ideas or comments would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

You need some slicks and a set of rancho bars.
My truck is lowered 4" in the rear and I'm using JLP bars and DOT slicks. I've been able to cut 1.5x sixty foot times with that combo. I have a few more ponies but with your numbers I would think you could get into the mid 1.6's with traction. My traction actually got better when I lowered my truck. After lowering it, I was cutting low 1.7x's on Nitto DR's.

Im needing to know which traction bars will have some sort of clearance problems with the drop and the bassani exhaust or will i have to remove the leaf kit and or the 2 inch shackles?
Thanks
I'm thinking your pinion angle has something to do with it.

I think it was the track you went to if you went to the Panama City track. A friend of mine said it was terrible over there.
The Rancho style bars are best, but I have heard they will hit your catback.
You can make a lowered truck hook up and go. Just takes some traction bars, a decent track, and some practice. Mine is lowered 2/4 and I can hook up pretty good. I've got some mid 1.7's on Nittos

I can't really speak for the Bassani catbacks; just that I have read there are clearance issues.
On mine when I put the JLP bars on with stock exhaust it was hitting the clamps. I ended up taking one of the tip clamps off, and that helped, but it still hit. I just lived with it because I knew I was going to change. When I did my exhaust(dynatechs to a magnaflow catback) it fixed the hitting problem. With the magnaflow catback I have extra room, and it has never hit(no way it could)
I really like the rancho style bars, I had a set of slapper bars and never did like them.

my JLP bars clear my MAC cat back.
When I first installed then it would hit over bumps... but it was hitting the clamp that held on the tips. So I loosed it, spun the clamp 180 degrees (so the nuts were on top) and tightened it.
haven't had a problem since.
