As it rains all the time in the UK, you have nothing to worry about...

The 03-04 have the new switch design, so you have nothing to worry about other than the dense London fog at WOT.

Just trying to humor you. Are you a lady owner of a Lightning? That must be a rarity in England.

Welcome to the board.

Hey SexyS,
We don't get many girls here. How about posting a few pics of you and your Lightning. The guys will get quite a kick out of this.

I got my recall notice a couple of days ago. I called the dealer and he said it takes longer to write up the claim than it does to do. Something about a fused harness.

I just bought a 02 f-150 sc 5.4 last week and it looks like the recall was done. There's a small wiring harness with a tag that says fuse inside. It's ty-rapped to a hose. The tag is blue plastic. Does this mean it was done?

Anyone know if the factory fix looks like a "rig?"

How common is it actually for these fires to start?

Is this something we can do ourselves? (I don't like dealers)

I'm as nervous as anyone else on going to a dealer for anything - but if your'e on the recall list, you should get it done. This is a 15 min job. I took my 01L in a couple of years ago to my dealer and had it doen on the foirst recall. Just made an appt - took it in at that time - they took it back to the service area - had it back in 20 min's and I was on my way.

I just ordered the factory OEM piece, and will do it myself. It's all plug-and-play. No splicing, nothing like that. Item costs $20 shipped.

Lightning in Scotland

Hi all,

I'm in Scotland with an 04 L.
Looking at some of the posts I take it the recall doesn't affect this year?
Humped if it does as the nearest dealer would probably be in Canada....D'oh!!

It does, and you can order the factory Ford fix & do it yourself. No need for a dealership. I did mine.

I placed a pic which shows the part number in my gallery on this site.
