I have personally installed one on a 650 h.P. kennebell Harley that had 20 lbs of boost .The smc injector kit (as any alcohol kit) was intended to do 2 main things.1) eliminate detonation at high boost levels 2) cool intake charge. What people do not realize is that it added 1 pound of boost due to the liquid sealing of the rotorpacks. So in theory , alcohol injection is not intended to directly "add" horsepower, but rather to bring out and control the existing power of moderate to high boosted engines.

Look at a company called Aquamist. They have the best setup going. Very good addition for those pushing lots of boost. Especially us on the west coast with our crappy fuel. Very effective at eliminating detonation. One very commonly run fluid is winsheild washer solution. It already has a very good blend of "alky". On the L it is very easy to install a spray bar under the blower above the I/C. The benefit is two fold. One the alky cools the intake charge and to some degree the I/C. Also the benefit of the water/alky injection to the cylinders. Very surprised more L's don't run it. In the turbo world it is a must. Your power gains do not come from the injecting of solution. It comes from more aggressive tuning allowed by the solution injection.

Aquamist is probably the highest quality kit I've seen, it's also the most expensive. Their pumps are much higher quality than any other kits I've seen, but they do not have the volume of many of the other kits. What this means is that on a high HP system you'd likely need two kits to supply enough water/alcohol. This is where a friend ended up with a 760 rwhp small block, had to put two kits to work which does get a bit expensive. One like the Snow or SMC kit would have handled the volume needed with their standard kit and can actually add additional nozzles as the pump is larger.

This is true of some of their older stuff. The new stuff can handle big H/P no problem. Many Supra's in the area pushing over 1000hp using a single system. On my STi I run two nozzles off of one pump. One to cool the charge going into the I/C and one directly at the T/B. My engine management also controlls my extrenal I/C spayer. When the boost goes up the Aquamist sprays the outside of the I/C as well. Fantastic system but as stated not cheap.

That's good to know. My friends system was a couple of years ago. Very nice stuff though.

SMC is the leader in Alchol injection. No one comes even close. Highest quality state of the art components as well as the quickest Buick Grand Nationals customer base . A few of the members such as ProMod as well as a few others here in Florida have switched over from Aquamist to the SMC units that were custom built by a local supplier for the Lightnings and now the 03/04 cobras. Aquamist is good, but check out the SMC units. No comparo! http://www.smcenterprises.com/turbo.htm

I sure hope the fuel pump SMC is using can handle the alky. Actually the stuff on their site looks very old school prehistoric. Probably fine for drag racing. Myself I prefer having the ECU spray when it needs to. Runs alky when it needs to.
