Got my new Boyds!!

Got my new wheels in today. I guess i'll have them mounted next week or something. They are 18x9.5. Got them for a steal of...............760 dollars shipped!!! Here's a couple of pics:

And i got the last set. They were originally going to be from axishp.com...but i called discount tire direct and had them match the price.

Be sure to post a picture when they're mounted.

Got my Boyd's last month & love em, I've had lots of compliments.

For reference
I did some weight comparisons vs the stock wheels & tires...
Stock Wheel & GY F-1 Tire Weight of 60 lbs
Rear Boyd's w/ 315-35-20 56 lbs
Front Boyd's w/ 275-40-20 53.5 lbs
Michelin Diamaris Tires/Boyd Timeless 2's

You have 18's though...it would be interesting to see the differences w/ your final setup. Are you planning on running the stock tire size ?

Enjoy !

Very nice wheels!

Just out of curiosity, what is the backspacing on those? If it's 5.25" make sure and test fit them on the truck before you mount tires. I'd be willing to bet they stick out of the fenderwells, at least on the front.

I'll post pictures up when i have the truck aligned and the tires put on it next week. And yes the backspacing is 5.25 which isnt what i wanted, but the price was so good i couldnt resist. Also, nobody has them that i know of. Anyways, i was just out in the garage and pulled the stockers off, and put on my 99-00 chrome 20's, and then the Boyds which i chose to use instead. It looked as if the boyds stuck out maybe 1/4 inch more. They do stick out further than the stock 18's, and the 20's, but i dont think its too much to look bad. I think it will make it look more aggressive in the rear. If you look at dowheelies truck, he has 18x9.5 and his backspacing is 5.5. I didnt feel like a quarter of an inch would ruin the look. I'll post pics from all angles when i get them mounted.
Oh yeah, artman-the boyds packaging said 60lbs for 2 wheels, so im guessing they weigh around 27ish pounds each? I compared them to the replica 20's i had, and i dont know if 2 of the boyds weigh as much as one of them. Dropping like 46-48lbs of rolling mass has got to be good for something.

Ya, no kidding Ron, i'll get pics of the front wheels/space from fender when i have them put on. I'll be sure to get pics up for everybody when i get them mounted. What lugs does everybody use? It doesnt look like a regular socket has a chance of fitting in there. Do i need to go with something that has its own like bit? Let me know where i can find some. Derek

I bought the smoothie's and found that the clearance between the spokes and the front calipers was almost non existant. I put some wheel spacers behind to be safe. I was afraid any wheel flex and they would have hit. Be sure to check yours, also had issues with lug nuts I had to buy splined nuts to be able to get a wrench into the hole.

I missed this part. That's great! I can't believe Discount tire
sold them to you that cheap. Those retail for 319.00 a piece.
