That's a quick change rear end. It uses verticle gears behind that small cover, that you can swap out for different ratios, much like our blower pulley setup.

That's not quite a "bolt in" deal . If you are going to replace the whole rear, might as well do a 9 inch .

I read a few months ago JLP has some prototype rear end in his race truck.

Auburn part 542090 - Only HIGH PERFORMANCE though

All Ford products with 9 3/4 ring gear 12 bolt
(Accepts tone ring for ABS applications)

Is that us? They don't seem to have a racing one.....

I would stay away form any of the units that use and cone style for the limited slip.IF you sping that cone very hard a few times it will wear out and theonly way to fix it is to replace the entire unit.sTan

Cliff from the looks of the two black marks that you put down all the way down my street I'd say they're not totally gone!

Cliff,
I would love to find a better solution than what we have and ideally it would be an independant. Certainly would be better for the road racing guys like us. Would the expedition one fit on ours?

Last November, mine was shot. Especially the pinion bearings. Took it to my dealer to look at it as well as a few other things. They ended up changing everything, clutches... under warranty This is my first and last warranty claim. (now expired) Heck, I'm happy. If yours is still on, you may want to try this until something better comes along.

Stan,
Which vehicle does this IRS come from? How big of a job is this?

Can we see any pictures or is this a matter of national security?

So if a truck fell off a rollback in Rogers AR, there might be a chance
it could be fitted with one of these? HEH HEH HEH
