WINTER DRIVING **WINDSHIELD WASHER RECIPE** save money! and it works great.

Hey all with Winter driving here I go through about a gallon of windshield fluid a week (sometimes more). With all the salt and slush being kicked up at my jeep I spend a fortune on windshield washer fluid. And coincidentally, I noticed the price is double in the winter than in the summer for this stuff.

SO I went searching online for a recipe and found one. I've been using it for about almost 2 weeks and it works great.

Here it is:
9 cups water
1 cup isopropyl alcohol
1 tablespoon dishwashing liquid
Combine all in plastic jug.

you might want to add a few drops of food coloring so you know what it is and the kids don't drink it.

I got it from

I know what you mean about going thru a gallon a week in the winter.
But here in Jersey you can buy Rain-X solution, good for -20, for $1.99 a gallon at Strauss Auto

so far so good!

I hate that salty mist that dries instantly on contact with the windshield... it sucks!

Then you go to a car wash, get the car all clean only to discover that water got into the windshield squiter nozzle and FROZE.

So people actually use their washer? 5 years now and have never even tried to see if it works. Cold/Ice/Snow must suck.....
