Cool Another Hemi Gets Struck By Lightning...

Not a big deal, but funny nonetheless:

I'm driving home last night from Hooters. Just cruising along and when I look up in my rear view, there is a piece of Dodge riding right up on my @$$.

Well, being the good citizen I am, I slowed down a few MPH so I could be sure to box him in behind me with the Camry that I was overtaking at the moment. Did I mention I hate being tailgated ?

So here we are, me and the Camry riding side by side, 5 MPH under the limit with Hemi-boy frantically switching lanes back and forth. Then, a wonderful thing occured: The traffic light way ahead turned yellow and no one was in front of us.

I jumped a little to pass the Camry so Hemi boy could get beside me, which he readily did.

Black standard cab with flames painted down the side and a big ram in the back window. LOUD dual exhaust out the back and nice shiny chrome rims.

Well, he does the obligatory Dodge "shuffle" (gas and brake on & off to make the truck lurch forward) and I just rolled my window down and smiled.

The light turns green and I hit the "hyperspace" button - Hemi boy quickly becomes a vision in my mirrors. So what do you do now ? Why of course, hit the brakes and let him catch up and then bag his dumb-@$$ again !

After the 2nd stomping he wasn't interested in trying to take me and we continued on. Once we got to the Gandy bridge he decided to do a ricer fly-by. As I watched him way behind me gaining speed, I was coasting down to 45 MPH or so. I figured that the way my L jumps from 45 to 80 it would be a great eye-opener for him.

You should have seen his face when I punched it and immediately matched his speed (around 85 or so). It looked like this:

Anyway, having made my point, I let off and cruised the rest of the way home at 55. Strangely enough, Hemi boy slowed down too.

I did notice he wouldn't look over at me for the rest of the time we were riding on the bridge...

I love my Lightning !!

We seem to have a large amount of those "hemi trucks" driving around our area. I am amazed at how many of them actually try to pull on me.

Either these guys don't know what a Lightning is or they have seriously been suckered into believing the stupid TV commercials from Dodge.

I usually don't even have to give it WOT, I get a kick out of staying about a nose ahead of them as they push their peddle through the floor board...... . It seems to just frustrate the crap out of these guys.

Nice Kill...LOL...maybe you should pick on someone your own size...J/K.

That was great.

You don't understand how much I HATE TAILGATERS!.

I HATE HATE HATE THEM.

Since I don't like to screw around in the "L". I usually use the Grand Cherokee. In the winter I put my 2 tires on the shoulder and kick up all type of salt and slush at their windshield. As soon as they back off I move over and let them pass.

NICE!! Hooters and a kill in the same night....

speaking of the Hemi's, have you guys seen the new hemi for the SRT-8? 6.1 liter, 425 HP- for the Chrysler 300/Charger body style. Why cant Ford do that? The Marauder while cool, definitely fell kinda short on performance (why they didnt put the 03 Cobra motor in it Ill never understand). Man I wish FMC could put together aq kick a$$ sedan like that.

Man, I never get any luck like that. Usually every body is in the other lane and goes past me and revs and looks over. Then I'll turn around and try to find the jabrone and they alway's manage to escape getting struck by Lightning or getting bit by a Cobra!

Nice kill!!

Ever since I bought my L, I've only been in 1 street race in Tampa. I got my *** handed to me by a sweet modded NSX a few months ago, (although, to my defense, we raced from a 20 mph roll.) How I wish a Hemi dude would try and **** with me!

I had a rental 2005 ram, 4x4, not the sporty one, and it was impresive. Far from Lightning-fast, but it was fun for a rental.

345hp/375tq .5.7ltr............. go Enterprise! They pick you up!

Cool

Since you bring that up, I was thinking and thought I'd post here:

Has anyone seen any real world dyno #'s for a Hemi truck ?

I raced 1 before I had my pulley and such and it wasn't even close.

If they are supposed to make 345 and a stock L is 380, I would think they would be much closer than the races I've been in or read about.

Personally, I think the 345 rating is VERY optimistic.

Just wondering...
