Unhappy Truck almost lost

So i come out of pep boys today and i unlock my truck and i heard a "clunck". So i look down and see that my drivers side lock was poped out. I instantly screamed out" you have to be fu*king kidding me" I open the truck and nothing was stolen nor nothing else was vandalized. I looked at the ignition and nothing was touched. So i don't no if they tried to break it open and steal the truck or something in it. All i no is something spooked them off because i had $180 pair of oakleys in the glove box and they were still their when i went to the truck. I filed a report ( not like thats going to help) and im still deciding where i should take the truck to get it repaired. If there going to have to reprogram the computer to match the new key or lock for any reason then i have to take the chip out. if i take ot to a ford dealer ,I just don't want a 18 yeard old punk beating the truck into submission without my chip in their and my 90mm and 4lb leaning the truck out untill BOOM. then thats all i need now.

Man, is that scary. I've had a hotrod stolen and stripped, and it's the worst feeling in the world. Go spend some money on a killer alarm system and get some peace of mind!

Thats a fact

Sorry to hear about your truck Mr Goodell
Maybe its time to put an alarm on the truck, apparently somebody/something scared them off. Maybe you won't be so lucky next time...........

**Considering an alarm now myself**

You may go and see if PepBoys has a camera, and see if you can tell who it was.

Sorry, I gotta laugh at that the statement. The WORST feeling in the world is when a Dr. looks at you and tells you you have cancer. Get the truck fixed, move on.

Frank, I bet you're right. But being fortunate enough to have never had that happen, I can say that having my hotrod stolen is the worst feeling that I'VE ever had.

All you need to do is go to the dealer and have them key a new lock to your existing key - When my truck was broken into I replaced BOTH door handles and both door locks for under $180 .. Did the install myself - Its easy work -

Link to Discount Ford parts that will ship you a lock keyed to the existing key

Link to How To remove door skin etc to change out the locks ....

The reason they did not take anything is you probably surprised them by returning and you did not see them

timing is everything and you may have timed your return right.

I called fordpartsonline and gave them my VIN - Since they are about 50 miles from here the next day ( or the day after ) I had a lock keyed for my key - I think they charged me 20 to key the lock - I also got a spare key - its not a PATS key with a chip but it will open the door ..

If you look in the picture in the HOw to I posted the lock slides in from the back and is held in place by a c clip - its real easy to replace -
