Lowering

Question...

I have the bell tech lowering springs in the front and the 2" drop shackles in the rear. But the rear end is still too high. I dont want to do the 4" shackles in the rear because everyone seems to agree that the truck will handle horrible.
So should i buy a set of lowering leaf springs and use the 2" shackles on those?

Also if i do this should i get a set of shock extenders?

thanks

Oh yea its an 04

You could also just remove one of the leaf springs.

Thought about that but then i figured it was like cutting front springs,
Cheap, but you get what you pay for = bad ride, and handling

Removing a leaf seems to have helped quite a few people's 60 ft.'s. My friend removed his from his 03 HD and it sits even with the front and launches better even with 305/45/22's.

My friends Harley seems fine. Seems as if most who have removed a leaf havn't had any problems with the handling. I still can't decide if I wanna remove a leaf or add hangers!

There will be less of a sacrifice in your ride with the Hotchkis 2.5'' drop. If you want more than 2.5'' you would adjust your bell-tech shackles to the next notch so you only get a 1'' drop. That will give you 3.5'' drop without sacrificing rideability.

Shock Extenders? No, I would suggest you go with the shocks that are rated for your drop.

i have 3" shackles out back, and i plan to use something new. i want another 2" or so, so i will be going back to the stock shackles, and using hangers. i found some that are adustable between 2-3" of drop, so hopefully that will put me where i want to be with no added flex of drop shackles. the only problem, is i understand that it is a major PITA to get the stock hangers off, because they are riveted to the frame.

some people remove leafs from the spring pack to drop as well, but i don't want to go that direction.
