My Motor is apart, WOO HOO........

Sorry no pic's (not unless MY PAL Sal took any ???)

But a couple of things of interest he found and mentioned

Said I had my vacuum lines ALL messed up, and thats why the blower whined so much. I had the EGR line going to the intake tube, and the bypass vent line going to the EGR, So I had no EGR, and a non-working bypass.
(It was closed all the time, which he tells me will give you that loud whine at idle because it's not bypassing air.

Ok so I frucked up a little
OR SOMETHING
(I love whine, should I screw it up again you think, hehehehe)

As for the Motor, he said everything looked pretty decent inside,
even better than he expected to see. The only issue is I have a few grooved up rod bearing journals. I'll have to see, we may need to grind or polish the crank. The bearings all looked good, except for number 7, which was eating itself up. "YIKES".

I believe the exact words he used were
I don't think it would have survived any more nitrous blasts.

WOO HOO, am I glad I did this NOW

U Da Man Sal

EDIT
WHAT GIRL, hehehehehe............

Guess What I CARE

I am one of those people that believe's the motor DOES NOT
run great once second, and then JUST EXPLODE the next. After over 2 years of running Nitrous through a stock block L, I for one was very interested in what we found inside, (and so were lots of others.)

Sal was surprised on how well the motor looked, but also found a bearing eating iteself up, now that is EXTREMELY INTERESTING to me, and should be to you.

MAYBE THE WEAK LINK ISN'T THE ROD'S MISTERgadget
MAYBE IT'S THE BEARINGS

my only question is why would it be #7?

With the debate about caged or uncaged pullies, I thought for certain any wear and tear would be onthe first or last Journal.

Is that a scratch I see on your lower bumper? Dayummmmmmmm...LOL J/K Congrats on the new soon to be motor.

On a serious note I am glad that someone here is getting a motor not made by that one big company in NJ. I could not take another cheerleader from that place.

hmmm

Good ol' number 7 huh? 5 and 7 seem to be the rods that like to go first. Maybe there is a lubrication issue to these to crank journals??? Maybe the bearings are the weak points?

Can't wait to see pics. I love seeing these engines taken apart when the parts are still recognizable

I've seen number 7 hurt in a local engine here. And there "IS" a serious problem with the oiling system, it normally doesn't show up until much higher rpm (over 8000) in the 4.6's but in the long stroke 5.4's who know.
It has to do with the way the crank is cross drilled.

Don't patronize me Rob. You know it's not just about this, but how you use F150 online as your own personal blog. It gets old very quickly. You have 4 times the posts I do, and have been here about a year less. That is alot of crap to sift through.

Edited for spelling.
