"Shaker" Hood Assy

I have a friend & neighbor (some of you may have heard of him....Scott Russell, a past World Super Bike Champion, and, 4 time Daytona 200 winner)... anyway, he is interested in a "Shaker" hood assy for his white 99 L. Can someone post some links that I can pass on to him where to find these. I did a search but didn't really come up with anything other than the one LFP offers. How about the one for the Mustang MK1...does that work on the L as well? Don't you cut your stock hood to accomodate? More info would be appreciated! Thanks!

How is Scott doing these days. Did he ever recover from that nasty get off? Always liked his riding style. Got to meet him over at Muzzy's years ago.

Sorry no leads on the shaker.

So are you looking for info on the Pro Glass Shaker (now the Keystone Shaker) or not? As far as I know it is the only one of its kind readily available for an F150. I love mine. I know you can get them through both LFP and PSP, and more than likely any vendor would be able to acquire one for you if you were interested. I got mine from LFP at WFC 5 a few years back.

Ive been curious about it to. It seems to work well with the stock S/C but what if you upgrade to say a whipple?

zbornac, i love your truck. Its got all those mods on it, yet they all look stock. Where did you get that overhead console with the ac controls? Just what I am looking for. I have big plans for my L and I must move those controls to the overhead.

You don't cut your old hood .. NO No.. You buy the new one and remove the old one and put the new one on for a trial fit.. Then get the new one painted and Install the scoop portion as per the instructions, and put the New hood on... LOVE mine... On some of them you have to cut out a piece of the hood underneeth so the air will enter where your cone filter is, no biggie...

Thanks for the compliments, it is always good to hear that kind of thing.

I know VINNIE uses it with his KB, and I get the feeling he wont have that blower for much longer, lol.

In regards to the overhead console, I believe it is from a 2000. At least that is what I asked for, lol. Mine is not functional, but I may change that eventually. Get ahold of Jim (Bulldog Neon) and see if he will help you out as he made it functional on his. Best place to get ahold of him is over on F L A S V T.com (take out the spaces)

I guess I never really thought about it but the shaker then feeds into the stock air filter? It would be nice if some how all the key components could be fit right below the shaker so it could feed directly into the S/C.

Anyway, making the A/C controls work, I asumed it would just be as simple as extending the wires up to the console. Am I missing some overly complicated angle that would stop a rook(ie) like me from doint this myself?

I believe that some vacuum hoses are needed to be run as well.

Thanks for the info, guys! I'll pass it on to Scott...who, is now doing fine after a fairly long recovery from the crash at Daytona a couple of years ago. He had to retire from "pro" racing for insurance purposes, but, had a good long career with many current records to his credit.
Merry Christmas all!!
