Freedom of speech brother. I live in Tampa Bay and have been pulled over before where I had disagreements with the cop. I wasn't disrespectful, but I let him know what I thought.

I doubt it went down "exactly" like g-divsionboyz said it did.
Ummm... where exactly did i say you couldnt speak your mind?

I said do it in a polite manner, mouthing off can get you arrested.
There is no charge for mouthing off, but like you said, he will find some other excuses to do so.

I have also had disagremeents with police officers.
When i used to carry my handgun with me in my car without a CCW i used to get **** for it. You know what i did?
I would carry Miami-Dade's florida statute's manual with me and i would politely quote the corrrect statute that showed that i was allowed to do it. I also used to get pulled over for having neon's around my license plate, i also argued it in a polite manner and quoted the book they train with.

I used to work for the Florida Public Defender's office and I saw a ton of silly arrests and it was all after the person mouthed off and became a real a$$ with the cop.

It isnt worth it, a police officer has very little to refrain him from arresting you.

You will win in court when the time comes, but most of the damage has been done. You wont get that money back for getting your car when its impounded and you wont get the time you wasted going to court.

Corrrect him politely and some, not all, but some might even thank you for letting him know the facts.

The golden rule is to be nice to the officer. Make it be an uneventful stop for the officer, then go fight your ticket where you are supposed to... IN COURT!!

If you are a smart-***, the officer is more than likely going to make sure to attend court when you are there so your ticket doesn't get dismissed.

If you were an uneventful stop to the officer, he may not even remeber you and many many times officers do not show up in court and your ticket is dismissed.

Your vehicle is going to attract the police.. PERIOD. If you want to avoid ever getting pulled over, drive a geo metro and keep it 5 below the speed limit. Otherwise, deal with it.

That's the thing I miss the most about the islands. Minimum posted limits.

I know in California if you mouth off to a cop they can arrest you for disorderly conduct. Now this can be a real bitch because they haul you off in the cruiser, have your vehicle towed and impounded and make your day a real pisser. When you go to court over this disorderly conduct and attempt to fight the charge the judge can fine you and **** you off just a little more. Oh, and your still stuck paying for the impound and towing charges on top of that…

I know this because my brother use to love to mouth off to cops until he got stuck paying a nice fine, towing charges, and a hefty impound charge…

As far as any cop or judge forcing you to change anything that is stock on your vehicle goes (i.e. exhaust) that is just not the case. If it is sold in a state then it meets all the state safety and legal requirements which includes noise levels. Therefore a judge or cop can not force you to do anything unless of course there is some kind of damage to the exhaust or exhaust leak etc otherwise they have NO power to force anybody to make modifications to a stock vehicle…
