Running Lean Help Please
Running Lean Help Please
I just took my stock '04 L to the dyno today to get some stock #'s. The A/F was 14.4:1. That is VERY lean for a stock truck isn't it? I have 0 modifications to it and it only has 6k miles on it. Graph is posted. Help would be appreciated.
TIA

Tim, while I have seen many newer stock trucks run a little lean, yours would be above the norm. But honestly, I do not believe those numbers to be correct. Your power numbers are in line with a properly running stock truck. If your WOT A/F was really 14.4, you'd be quite a bit down on power. My advice is get on another dyno and see if you get the same A/F.

I dynoed my stock truck yesterday and these are the results.
Some on here have been telling me that I'm running lean. I have a better A/F ratio than Tiny Tim but not below the magical 12.0.

(Ignore the horizontal red line. It was from a previous run the dyno guy had used for another car)
My truck is a 2001 with 9800 miles on it. I've had no problems with it thus far. (Knock on wood!)
Are these acceptable numbers for a stock truck?
Thanks,
Eric
