my supercharger had been making noise on startup also, i installed a c&l intake today and spun the blower, and it seemed to have a rough spot in the rotation, if i recall correctly the blower used to just spin freely w/ out any tight spots. Does this mean my blower case has warped and i need to get more clearance? is this going to be a constant problem? If so, ill be pretty dissapointed with the apten port, as i had no idea it would do this. Any ideas?

Derek, try tightening the 2 intake bolts closest to the firewall first, then the next two, then finally the front two.

When I pulled the intake off my seized blower the two bolts closest to the firewall were looser than the other four bolts.

The front edge of my failed Eaton's intake had heated up and sank down .020. When I installed the upper intake on my new blower. I tightened the back four bolts first, and there was probably about .020 gap on the front bolt holes to the supercharger. I installed shim washers to bridge this gap.

Hope this helps.

good thinkin. i try to tighten them down evenly, but maybe i didnt. It seemed a lot worse today than it did last week. I'll have to loosen the bolts and try your method, then again the damage could already be done. Any ideas to how much it would cost to have it checked out etc? Id rather just upgrade the blower if it becomes expensive. Then again there may not be anything wrong with it.

Bob Stiegemeier would charge very little to increase your rotor/case clearance and clean up any damage.

Well took the belt off today, gave the blower a spin, spun perfectly, maybe it was hitting the phenolic spacer i installed at the time? I now think its one of the idler pullies in the front thats going out, any good products to replace those two with? Thanks!
