JDM and 3.3 Whipple R&D!!!

We are working with Whipple on building the 3.3 Lightning kit. They had sent us a blower and an adapter plate. We are going to change the design of the plate a little and should have an upper plenum in a few weeks. Here it is on Superfords truck for mock-up. With the new plenum design it will clear under the stock hood. These blowers are really something else!

Looks like if you try to clear the stock hood it would be too restrictive

Im glad to see that its closer to actually coming to the market

Hell sell it with a bubble type hood If that thing produces as much power as the world seems to think it will make a intake system for it that includes a hood. I am sure who ever will buy the blower is going to fork the cash for the hood as well, yes it will reduce the market for it but it sure will add some punch If you can afford the 3.3 than you can afford another $1000.00 for the hood. And If you cant than buy something else ha!!!

When the design takes place it will be made sure that plenum makes as most efficient power and is as least restrictive as possible.

Im with badasstruck1 on this one though buying a hood would be worth this blower

Looks awesome Jimbo

Remember they are just prototyping it right now. From what I gathered from Jim's post, they are going to redesign the adaptor, so the blower sits lower. They will then be able to fit a upper plenum on the blower and fit it under a stock hood.

I am pretty sure I am the one who gave Jim the idea to work with the top entry blower, as opposed to the rear entry. Yes Madness it is a Holley 4 barrel inlet on that blower. While they use that blower on Marine applications, it is also used on my automotive applications.

Once Jim gets the upper plenum done, you should also be able to use the same plenum on the 2.3 blower. What will be cool about that setup if you want to put a phenolic spacer on it, there are many spacers out there for the Holley pattern.

Thumbs up AWESOME !!!!!

Hey Jim, that's a sweet looking blower. I guess that'll be the next upgrade. Can I get a trade in for my slightly used Kenne Bell?
And I thought I was done modding. I guess it'll never end, see ya Sat. at the party Dude.
